It's great that the armory exists. Recommended for every hiker to stop by. The offer is good, the price-performance ratio fits. The dishes we ate were all beautifully presented, reasonably prepared and tasty. The portion size fits. We have been taking a nice break here for over 15 years. Fortunately, the change of owner and thus of the concept has not changed anything. Clear recommendation. Update 2020 It remains a pleasure to stop by here after a hike. We ate our way through the range for two weeks, everything was delicious, homemade and fresh! We are happy to accept that something is not there when it is made fresh the next day. The entire staff is extremely friendly. The kitchen works fast. All dishes are presented very well. Really good!

A really nice inn in the heart of Saxon Switzerland! Coffee and cake were delicious, it's a shame that I wasn't hungry anymore, because the food selection was good and, for an excursion restaurant, extremely extensive and sophisticated. Nice bar (as self-service) and a very pleasant open space.

Large selection of vegetarian dishes. Great tarte flambée with pumpkin and olives and delicious celery and pear soup. Decent portions. Friendly service behind the counter. Nice terrace to linger.

Were there around 4:30 p.m. and were offered a small selection of dishes and drinks. Everything was very tasty and nicely decorated. Staff very friendly. Only the toilets could be a little cleaner.

Very very selected range of food and drinks, everything very tasty. Price-performance ratio is okay and you can sit outside in the garden very well. The toilets need more frequent cleaning, otherwise it's fine.

Nice beer garden, cozy, all dishes are nicely presented, the food is very tasty. The offer is diverse and ranges from homemade lemonade, tarte flambée, baked shepherd's cheese, goulash to coffee and cake. We were very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.

Very nice refreshments and sitting right in the national park. Very nice staff, but the food, it was absolutely gone. On the recommendation, we took a celery-pear cream and completely enjoyed it, as well as a pizza with mozzarella, Schwarz ham and fresh arugula, and it was miserable. In the end, the coffee, which is also delicious. Definitely recommend!

Worth a stop after a hike! Food tastes very good. The sanitary facilities could use a little more affection. But better than going into the forest .... 😉

Oh yes, an inn in the middle of the forest with a cool drink and a good cucumber soup. You can linger and feel good there. Thank you for your commitment and your love for drinks and food.

Very nice area with a wide range of dishes. Whether warm or cold, alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, everyone will find something here. The service is very nice and friendly. The outdoor area is very clean and you can keep enough distance from other people. We would love to come back!

The old armory suddenly appears in the middle of Saxon Switzerland, where you no longer expect a stop. Freshly painted with a cozy beer garden and modern cuisine. No matter whether apple pie, ice cream, tarte flambee or sausage salad. Everything is lovingly arranged and tastes great. Ideal for a little rest.

Nice that there is again management of the restaurant "Altes Zeughaus", because the localities in Saxon Switzerland are becoming less and less. We were all the more delighted with the offer and its presentation. So if you fancy a really good coffee, you're sure to find it here. Unfortunately, the strawberries were all gone for our strawberry sundae and we were asked whether we would like to get a proportional return or some other compensation. This may be a matter of course, but we have already experienced it differently in other ways. Hence a "thumbs up" for service and customer friendliness.
